What?

The Roc Marathon is a certainty on our programme… but for some of our participants it isn’t challenging anymore. And because the beautiful locations in the region are countless, we proudly present you also this year the BIG Roc Marathon.

The 110km course is an exceptional challenge and is meant for experienced mountain bikers only. New parts are added and your physical and technical skills will be tested thoroughly.

Rules & regulations

The BIG roc marathon is an MTB Mountainbike Series race.

In case you take part in this race with an e-bike, you will be timed but you will not appear in the rankings.

Participants in the UCI MTB Marathon Series have to be

  • at least 19 years of age (born in 2005 or before)
  • dispose of a valid UCI license. This means:
    • either a yearly license
    • or a daily license of their own national federation.

The UCI code will be required on the registration documents and licenses will be checked on site the day before the race (see below). No UCI point minimum is required.

Belgians without yearly license can still participate in the official race by buying a daily license from the FCWB (with a 5 € surcharge).

The purchase of daily licenses, if the UCI Marathon is not complete yet, is only possible on Saturday 27/04 during the opening hours of the license check (4PM – 8PM). Signing up for the UCI MTB Marathon Series on the day itself is not possible.

Non-Belgians without a license have to buy their daily license in advance at their national federation. They cannot buy a daily license at the event.

Licenses will be checked on Saturday 27/04 from 4PM until 8PM. No license control will take place on Sunday morning.

Bikers who do not wish to participate at the UCI race will start in the waves as from 7:35. If the race is not complete yet, it will be possible to register for this race on Saturday.

For the UCI Marathon the time registration will be done according to the “gun time” principle. This means that the time for all participants starts once the starting signal has been given.

For all other races of the marathon the net time will be applied. This means that your timing will start once you have crossed the control-carpet at the start of the race.

No separate results are made for “U23” or “masters” categories.

Prize money has been paid directly by the national federation since this year. For more info, contact Ann Bossers ann.bossers@golazo.com
