57 youngsters took the start in Houffalize for 3 laps of 4 km.Timo Kielich immediately took charge ahead of Carlo Van den Bergh, Laurens Rex ,Tim Van Dijke and Siet Minkema.
On the second lap Kielich already held a minute lead on Wallonian champion Rex, who was clear of Van Dijke and Bruno Van Duyse. Van Dijke suffered a brake problem while Rex crashed on the final lap. Kielich had a clear run to victory ahead of Van Duyse and Van Dijke.
In the girls youth race Holland’s Julia Boschker beat Belgian Emeline Detillieux. “I didn’t know what to expect but everything went well”, said the winner.
In the girls junior category Holland’s Didi De Vries was outstanding. The Wallonia Cup winner rode a great race to fend off na Belgians Romy Berend and Lotte Van Thillo. “I was expecting a stronger opposition”, said De Vries. “The parcours was fantastic. That’s why I love riding in Belgium.”
In the boys junior race Louis Jamin lead from start to finish. On the first lap Arnaud Beeckman, Sven Burger, Marc Bouwmeester and Stijn Siemons managed to follow. Siemons was the first to drop off, Jamin was on his own from lap three. Beeckman and Burger joined him on the podium.
