With a weekend packed with mountain bike rides through the breathtaking countryside of Houffalize, a lively après-bike with plenty of music, and ample opportunity to enjoy good food and drink, Roc d’Ardenne has been the Benelux’s biggest mountain bike festival for ten years. For its eleventh edition, Roc d’Ardenne is broadening its horizons and will also treat runners and walkers to beautiful trails. Join us on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 May for a varied, festive and gastronomic multisport weekend.
Participants at Roc d’Ardenne can enjoy a whole weekend of sport: cycling on Saturday, running or walking on Sunday… or even more cycling.
Saturday’s programme features three timed mountain bike rides: Big Roc Marathon (91 km, 2,300 metres of elevation gain), Roc d’Ardenne (65 km, 1,800 metres of elevation gain) and Mid Roc (45 km, 1,053 metres of elevation gain). E-mountain bikers will also find plenty to enjoy. There is a separate start wave for them for the 65 km route.
On Sunday, things take a slightly more leisurely pace with the Rando Mid Roc (43 km, 1,053 metres of elevation gain) and the Fun Roc Gourmand (25 km, 532 metres of elevation gain). Neither of these rides is timed or ranked.
During the Fun Roc Gourmand, mountain bikers can look forward to tasty snacks and delicious beers to recharge their batteries. Traditionally, there is also a stop at Brasserie Chouffe on the itinerary. The Fun Roc Gourmand is a fun sporting challenge combined with the best the La Roche-Houffalize region has to offer.
New to the Roc d’Ardenne programme on Sunday morning: the Roc Trail for runners and the Roc Walk for walkers. By offering this, organiser Golazo is responding to the high demand that existed. Runners can choose between a 25 km course (530 metres of elevation gain) or a 10 km course (190 metres of elevation gain); for walkers, the route is 10 km (190 metres of elevation gain). Runners aiming for a top time or ranking can go all out, as both trails feature timekeeping and consequently also a ranking system.
During Roc d’Ardenne, Houffalize will once again be buzzing all weekend long, bathed in a convivial sporting atmosphere. And after the sporting exertions, everyone can unwind at the après-bike, where DJs and live bands will provide the atmosphere.
